On January 23, 1996 the complete state bodies of the Russian Federation registered the Defence Systems company. Among share-holders-founders of the Company are the leading research and development institutes, design bureaus, production enterprises including the Almaz Central design bureau, Fakel Machinebuilding design bureau and a number of other enterprises specializing in development and production of air defence missiles, radars and automatic control systems as well as making integrated systems of point air defense on the basis of the above- mentioned equipment. The Company was established as the central part of the Financial-Industrial Group Defence Systems. Its further plans include export deliveries of highly effective and competitive S-300PMUI air defence missile system, radars, automatic control systems, equipment for current repair, education and practical training of combat crews, performing a wide range of maintenance operations within the limits of servicing, upgrading, repair and utilization of the equipment delivered.
