The need of Russia and the CIS states in new aircraft prompts further development of aircraft engine-building both for purely
'national' projects
(e.g. Russian or Ukrainian) and within the framework of wide-scale international
programmes.
For several years now, Russian engine developers have been in co-operation with foreign companies upgrading engines in stock and designing new ones. United Technologies Corporation is actively co-operating with the Perm Engine Company, Energomash Design Bureau, Khimavtomatika Design Bureau, Kazan Helicopter Plant and Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant. The General Electric company has been carrying out long-term projects with the Rybinsk Motors joint stock company. CFMI, SNECMA, Turbomeca companies are successfully introducing their products in the Russian market.
New avionics suites are widely created for aircraft that are at the design and upgrade stages. They are both purely Russian developments and a number of projects performed jointly with companies Allied Signal, Rockwell Collins, Litton, Litef. |
